I use Delicious as my primary bookmarking service and was concerned a couple of days ago when I read that Yahoo might be shutting down Delicious. Now, it seems like they are not shutting down Delicious and may be trying to sell the service.
I’m less concerned about Delicious closing than I am about my reliance on 1 cloud service for a function (e.g., social bookmarking). This isn’t the first or last time a service will or might shut down. Have you thought about alternatives for your services and a backup plan in case they disappear? If you haven’t considered a backup plan, see Harold Jarche’s Where’s your data?
